North London BeeKeepers
Introduction to BeeKeeping
2008 Spring & Autumn Course
Most people who believe that it would be nice to keep bees should really, first of all, take a short basic Beekeeping course. This will give them the experience of handling live bees and give some idea as to the commitment that is required when becoming a Beekeeper. Watching and doing beekeeping with other people builds confidence. Just holding a frame of 1000 bees for the first time is an amazing sight and not at all daunting when looking at it with other experienced beekeepers. Compare this with a novice beekeeper who has never been to a beekeeping class, opening his or her hive for the first time - without any help - rather an alarming prospect !
