Saturday & Sunday Stoneleigh
15 - 16 April British Bee Keepers Association at the National Agricultural Centre, Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire. Beekeeping lectures and demonstrations.

Sunday 16 April Apiary visit:-
11.00 am. First examination for swarming.

Sunday 30 April Apiary visit :-
11.00 am. Routine check of colonies


Sunday 14 May Millennium Bee Day.
11.00 am. Lecture at Kenwood House by Dr Robert Pickard “Honeybee Psychology ”. Arranged by the Middlesex Federation of Beekeepers. (Tickets £5.00, only available in advance from Jo Telfer 020-8868 3494) After lunch, at 2.00 pm - 3.00 pm our association Apiary will be open for visitors where tea, coffee and cakes will be served.

Thursday 18 May Evening Walk.
7.00 pm. By popular request. Exploring the trees and ancient hedgerows of Hampstead Heath with beekeeper Deborah Wolton. Family & friends welcome.7.00 pm. sharp. Meeting point to be announced.

June 22 - 25 Regents Park Flower Show
Thursday - Sunday
10.00 am - 19.30 pm. North London BeeKeepers stand will be in the Country & Garden Produce Marquee where we will be selling honey and displaying our observation hive with live bees. We are invited to represent Beekeeping at this major flower show.

Sunday 25 June Beekeeping Field Day
12.00 am - 4.30 pm A day of beekeeping for our members at the invitation of Twickenham and Thames Beekeeping Association. Live demonstrations and the days theme is “History of Beekeeping” Bring your clean bee suit (to prevent any chance of disease spreading) and arrive at 12.00 with a picnic lunch. Drinks and tea will be provided. Venue - The Apiary at 41 Whitton Road, Twickenham TW2 9LD. Limited space so please book by phoning Robert on 020-7624 2225

Sunday 2 July Garden Party
11.30 am - 2.30 pm. Visit University College School Apiary
Apiary visit and Garden Party combined. Invitation to members and their family to see how UCS keeps their bees and to join other beekeepers for a social gathering. Take your own picnic lunch - Tea & coffee provided. Bring protective clothing if you wish to look at the bees. Venue UCS Frognal NW3.

2.00 pm. North London Beekeepers honey stall. Highgate Horticultural Society. School Dining Hall, Bishopswood Road, Highgate N6.

Sunday 30 July Apiary visit:-
11.00 am. Prepare to take honeycrop. Clearer boards on hives. Varroa Treatment.

Saturday 9 September Autumn Show.
2.00 pm. HONEY SHOW for North London Beekeepers. As of last year Nick Grey will be there to judge your entries. Highgate Horticultural Society, Highgate Society, 10a South Grove, Highgate N6.

Sunday 10 September Apiary visit:-
11.00 am. Remove Varroa treatment. Check feed need per colony.

Sunday 24 September Apiary visit:-
11.00 am. Remove feeders. Check stores. Mouse guards on. Prepare for winter.

Wednesday 27 September BeeKeepers Question Time
8.00 pm. A panel of local experts will try to answer your beekeeping questions and solve any beekeeping problems you may have. Highgate Horticultural Society, Highgate Society, 10a South Grove, Highgate N6.

Thursday 26 October The British Black Bee
8.00 pm. John Kay who formally taught the ILEA beekeeping course will talk to us about his great hobby - The British Black Bee and why he finds them so important. Highgate Society, 10a South Grove, Highgate N6.

16 - 18 November National Honey Show
Thursday 1.45 pm. - 7.00 pm. Venue - Kensington Town Hall.
Friday 9.30 am. - 7.00 pm. Venue - Kensington Town Hall.
Saturday 10.30 am - 8.00 pm. Venue - Kensington Town Hall.

Wednesday 13 December Christmas Party
8.00 pm. The social event of the year ! Members and their families are most welcome. Bring a bottle of your favourite beverage and a food contribution. At Margaret Jarvie’s home.

Sunday 4 February 2001 Annual General Meeting 3.00 pm. AGM followed by tea and Lecture. John Powell will be talking on “Bees in Fact and Fancy”- the myths of the interaction between bees and humans. For the tea contributions of home-made honey cakes are always most welcome. Highgate Society, 10a South Grove, Highgate N6.
