- Middlesex Federation has the following functions;
- Organisation of the Middlesex classes of the National Honey Show that is in late Autumn. Awarding cups and prizes for the best entries.
Organisation of a Beekeeping day of lectures in February/March.
Organisation of a summer social event, associated with beekeeping, in most years.
Sending a delegate to the BBKA's Annual Delegates Meeting. This includes the co-ordination and agreed voting of any proposals put forward by other counties.
Co-ordination of BBKA's policies and notifying the associations of these. These may be regarding disease and its treatment, health & safety issues for honey production, administration etc..
The British BeeKeeping Association (BBKA) is the controlling body for beekeeping in the United Kingdom and under it are the Counties, Middlesex being one of these. Counties are then broken up into areas of local beekeepers and Middlesex is split up into 5 areas:

The next Beginners course starts on the first 2 consequetive Saturdays in March.
March 1st and 8th 2008 from 10am to 3pm. Both days need to be attended for the theory.
Practical takes place on the following Sundays 2 and 9th but can be completed at later dates.
